OUR STORY

Our mission is simple: create a safe space and a strong community where kids feel seen, heard, and empowered — both on and off the court.

Founder Marcus Hodges started Separation Team with one clear purpose: to change as many lives as possible through the game of basketball.

After years of training youth players to NBA pros — Marcus saw the power of basketball and realized there was a deeper need: a place where players could grow in skill, confidence, character, and community.
That’s when the idea for Separation Team came to life. The name says it all — a team of elite trainers, mentors, and leaders committed to helping athletes separate themselves from the average and rise to their full potential
Whether you're 7 or 27, the goal is the same: push beyond limits, pursue your dreams, and never settle for less than excellence.
What started as a personal mission has now grown into a full movement — with certified trainers, specialized camps, youth leagues, and a world-class facility where over 1,000 athletes train every year.
With the support of his sister Danielle and a growing team, Marcus has built more than a brand — he's built a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and challenged to become their very best.

Why Separation Team?

At Separation Team, you’re not just another athlete. You’re family. We know your name, we believe in your greatness, and we hold you to a standard of excellence in everything you do.

  • From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll feel the energy, the intensity, and the support. We bring that same passion and focus every single day, creating an environment where athletes are challenged, encouraged, and pushed to become their absolute best.

  • What sets us apart is our ability to combine high-level training with a true family atmosphere. We laugh, we compete, and we hold each other accountable. While we have fun and build relationships, we also walk the walk — and the results speak for themselves.

  • Players who train with us don’t just get better — they get noticed, and many go on to play at the highest levels in high school, college, and professionally.
